Getting started with professional enterprise virtualisation: In this two-day core training, you will acquire the key technical skills for successfully deploying and managing Proxmox VE on single hosts. Learn best practices for networking, storage architectures and security strategies directly from the certified partner.
Your learning objective in the course
After the training, you will have an in-depth understanding of how to use VMs and LXC containers optimally. You will configure the integrated firewall, plan tailored backup & restore strategies (incl. Proxmox Backup Server) and manage user permissions with fine-grained control. You will also be able to migrate existing workloads (V2V/P2V) and carry out basic troubleshooting independently.
This training is a prerequisite for Proxmox VE Training Module 2.
Key information
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of virtualisation concepts and Linux administration.
Certification & trainer:
The training is delivered live by the certified experts at credativ GmbH – your authorised Proxmox training partner.
Certificate:
A certificate of participation will be issued by Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH. Participants can receive a discount voucher for subscription orders from the Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH Training Plus promotion.

Your clear advantages of booking the full package
The All-Round Carefree Package: From Single Host to HA Cluster
Are you planning the setup or migration of a modern, future-proof open-source virtualization? Take advantage of our 4-day intensive compact course. We seamlessly combine the solid foundational knowledge from Module 1 with the enterprise architectures from Module 2.
Seamless knowledge transfer
No long waiting periods or forgetting of content between modules. What you learn for the single server on days 1 and 2, you put into practice directly on days 3 and 4 in the high-availability cluster environment.
Maximum time efficiency
Bind your IT administrators intensively for just one week instead of scattered individual sessions. After just 4 days, your team has the complete know-how for daily use at their disposal.
All-in-One Training with Certificate
A certificate of participation for both modules will be issued by Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH. Participants can receive a discount voucher for subscription orders from Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH’s Training Plus promotion.
Brief overview of the 4 training days (28 hours)
The agenda follows exactly the official guidelines and combines theoretical depth with intensive practical exercises on the systems:
- Day 1 & 2 (Deployment & Management): Installation, network configuration (bridges/bonding), storage basics, administration of VMs & LXC containers, Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) and secure workload migrations.
- Day 3 & 4 (Clustering & Shared Storage): Cluster architectures (Corosync/pmxcfs), enterprise software-defined networking (SDN), hyperconverged storage with Ceph (HCI), asynchronous ZFS replication, and sophisticated high availability (HA) failure scenarios.
Note for companies: Since Module 2 starts right on the third day, there is no waiting period. This combined course assumes basic Linux administration knowledge, but starts with Proxmox basics and leads you directly to enterprise readiness.

Training content in detail
High availability for your enterprise workloads: Take your Proxmox environment to the next level. This advanced module provides essential hands-on knowledge for deploying, managing, and optimizing Proxmox VE nodes in a clustered environment.
- Cluster architecture: Components, requirements, and proven “best practices”.
- Foundation: The Proxmox cluster file system (pmxcfs) and Corosync in detail.
- Redundancy: Cluster networks, advanced VLANs, and site-wide software-defined networking (SDN).
- Shared storage: Integration and management of shared storage solutions.
- Ceph HCI: Hyperconverged infrastructure, Ceph RBD for virtual disks, and CephFS for cluster-based file storage.
- Live migration: Seamlessly move running guests between cluster nodes.
- ZFS replication: Use asynchronous disk replication in the cluster.
- High Availability (HA): Implement high-availability concepts for VMs and containers in a targeted manner.
- Failure scenarios: Hands-on exercises with simulated HA and Ceph failures.
- Minimal setups: Operate 2-node clusters securely with an external tiebreaker (QDevice).
- Automation: Speed up workflows via the Proxmox REST API and CLI tools.
- Troubleshooting: Advanced troubleshooting in complex cluster environments.
At a glance
Learning objective
You set up complex Proxmox VE clusters according to official standards. You master hyperconverged infrastructures (HCI) with Ceph, manage central VLANs via SDN, and minimize planned and unplanned downtime through optimized HA configurations.
Requirements
Successful completion of the course “Proxmox VE Deployment and Management” (Module 1)
We explicitly point out that we do not recommend changing the training provider between Module 1 and Module 2. Our training environment is explained in the first part, and working with it is part of the requirements.
Certificate of attendance
A certificate of attendance will be issued by Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH. Participants may receive a discount voucher for subscription orders as part of Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH’s Training Plus promotion.
