Workshops

Not every knowledge gap can be closed with a standard course. When it comes to your environment, an upcoming migration, or an architecture that is yet to be designed, we work together on your specific case in a workshop. Our trainers are the same consultants who operate these systems on behalf of customers.

Workshops take place online or at your premises, at your pace and with your topics.

When a workshop is a better fit than a training course

A training course conveys a defined body of knowledge to a mixed group. This is the right path when fundamentals are missing. A workshop takes a different approach: we work on your environment, with your requirements and your open questions. This is particularly worthwhile when a decision is pending, a team needs to get on the same page, or a project needs to be set in motion.

A combination is often useful: first the standard training for the basics, followed by a workshop for application to your own case.

Typical workshop topics

The scope and structure are developed during the preliminary talk. Customers regularly request these topics:

  • PostgreSQL in operation: Reviewing backup and recovery strategies, designing high availability, and going through performance questions on your own database.
  • Automation: Mapping recurring tasks with Ansible, from the first playbook to a structure that is sustainable for the team.
  • Linux and infrastructure: Operating concepts, security, update strategies, and monitoring for the existing landscape.
  • Kubernetes and containers: Getting started or deepening knowledge based on your own applications instead of textbook examples.

Your topic isn’t listed? Our portfolio extends much further; a look at the software overview shows the full range. Just send us an inquiry.

How a workshop works

Before the appointment, we clarify the objectives, participants, and existing knowledge in a short preliminary talk. This forms the basis for the agenda. For us, a workshop consists predominantly of practical work: we work together with your technical staff on realistic scenarios, often directly in a test environment.

Where appropriate, this produces results that you can continue to use afterwards: a working prototype, a documented target architecture, or a set of playbooks as a basis for your own automation. At the end, you won’t have a set of slides gathering dust on a shelf, but something you can actually build upon.

Why credativ

We have been managing open-source infrastructure in mission-critical use since 1999. Those who lead a workshop at our company are not full-time trainers, but consultants in day-to-day business. You can tell by the answers: when asked how a procedure behaves in an emergency, you don’t get a formula from the documentation, but experience from projects where it really mattered.

Our answers to the most frequently asked questions:

Our support is focused on the actual needs of our customers. This means that we naturally offer more support than the traditional support offered by many manufacturers. But what’s important, and this applies for any software that is operated in business-critical areas, is that the operation is appropriately secured. This is where we provide technical support at the manufacturer level with guaranteed service level agreements.
All of our employees are experienced Open Source developers and administrators. We are the replacement for missing manufacturer support, and support the entire lifecycle of your Open Source software by means of our Open Source Support Center. We provide the necessary support and all the services for your entire Open Source stack under one roof.
Our service and support contracts take account of your interests, not those of investors. We deliberately use completely different contract and price models to those of countless international software manufacturers and are proud that our fair support offers are a solid and reliable basis for long-term and successful cooperation with large national and international customers. We also want to provide a model that is completely independent of the usual factors, such as the number of users, the number of CPUs/cores and servers used or similar limiting factors. We would be pleased to discuss further details with you personally. More about the operation of our Open Source Support Centers
