We are looking for a permanent position to support our Database and PostgreSQL expert team with immediate effect:

PostgreSQL Database Engineer/Consultant (m/f/d)

The database team is an association of PostgreSQL and database specialists, which successfully collaborates in remote work and hybrid work models. PostgreSQL is especially used by many of our customers as a business-critical database. We actively support its operation and are looking for a highly motivated additional team member.

What you can expect:

  • A company culture that makes work fun
  • An exceptional work-life balance
  • Flat hierarchies and a flexible work model with home office arrangements
  • Varied areas of activity
  • If desired, a neutral company car for customer visits and private use
  • An attractive salary and direct participation in the success of the company
  • A company notebook and company cell phone
  • A multitude of other perks that you won’t find in most other companies

You will become an important member of our Open Source team, where many of the leading German Open Source specialists realize our customer projects. Your future colleagues have extremely broad knowledge, which makes our company so unique and which they would like to share with you.

If you are active in the Open Source community, we will of course support your work there.

What tasks you can expect:

  • Long-term PostgreSQL projects like migrations
  • 3rd-level PostgreSQL support, also as part of our on-call rotation
  • Open Source work on PostgreSQL-related projects
  • Database reliability engineering
  • Architecture review, performance analysis and health checks
  • Optional: Training courses and conference presentations

What you should be able to provide:

  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, both at an administrative and architectural level
  • Operational experience and ideally initial implementation experience with PostgreSQL high-availability solutions
  • Experience with other PostgreSQL system projects such as pgbouncer, backup (pgBackRest, Barman) and monitoring/surveillance solutions
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems (e.g. Ansible) and general Linux system engineering
  • Motivation and team spirit
  • Willingness to contribute your ideas and knowledge
  • Communication in spoken and written German and English
  • The ability to seek and find customer-oriented solutions
  • Coding experience in C/C++, Python or other languages
  • Occasional willingness to travel
  • Location in Germany and appropriate work permit
