Open Source Virtualization Gathering December 2025

This December, we are launching the very first Open Source Virtualization Meeting, also known as the Open Source Virtualization Gathering!
Join us for an evening of open exchange on virtualization with technologies such as KVM, Proxmox, and XCP-ng.

The meeting on 11 December 2025 will take place at the premises of credativ GmbH in Mönchengladbach:

Agenda:

  • 5:00 PM Opening

    • Ronald Otto, Managing Director of Tuxis B.V. “Enterprise-Ready? How Users Deploy Proxmox VE and Ceph” (Lecture in English)
    • Florian Paul Azim Hoberg (credativ) “Proxmox VE as a virtualization engine for BoxyBSD
    • TBA
  • Discussion and Networking
  • Closing
  • Relocation / Extension to the restaurant on the ground floor (self-payment)

We will cover the drinks during the first part. Afterwards, those who wish to do so can join us for dinner and further drinks at the Italian restaurant La Cottoneria (at your own expense). The presentations will be held at least partially in English. Of course, everyone is free to join in the discussion.

This marks the beginning of a new series of community-driven meetings – help shape it from the start! If you are interested in giving a presentation, please contact us. We will periodically host such events with exciting presentations, and we hope that an Open Source Virtualization regulars’ table might develop from this. We already had a kind of pilot with the PostgreSQL NRW Meetup – thanks again to the PostgreSQL User Group NRW.
Registration for this first event is handled via Meetup.com. If you wish to participate, please click the “Attend” button on meetup.com.

Please note: Unfortunately, the Meetup.com platform, which we have chosen for organization, is known for pushing new users toward a subscription (Meetup+) and unnecessarily complicating the registration process. A subscription is not required, and participation in our event is, of course, free of charge. You can skip the partially private questions asked by Meetup. We do not collect this data, nor do we have any access to it. We only require a name and, if applicable, an email address.

We will be looking for an alternative booking tool for the further event series.
